I'm partnering up with AR Workshop Davidson to teach my first-ever hand lettering class. Hooray! Local friends, come out on Dec. 6th from 7-9:30 p.m. to learn how to make your holiday mail look extra special. I will teach you my process, how I layout my designs, draw my letters and show you how to make your envelopes really pop! Not only will your recipients love them, but so will your mail carrier ;) You'll receive a packet of the same tools I use everyday to create designs for my greeting card business and handouts to take home to keep learning and practicing. Get behind the scenes knowledge about how I do what I do with guided techniques and tips to hone your new skill. It's going to be a fun night, filled with wonderful people.

It's the best time of the year as far as I'm concerned. To me, fall means hot cups of cider, apple picking at the orchard and getting cozy in my favorite sweater. There is a slight chill in the air already and the very first leaves are just starting to change. Nothing beats it. Wishing you a happy autumn filled will cider, donuts and a lot of cozying up in front of the fire.

Our most recent trip was to Oak Island, a seaside town on the southeast coast of North Carolina. Less commercialized than the ever amazing Wrightsville Beach, this is the perfect little town for a relaxing beach weekend. We spent most of our time on beautiful Long Beach, walking for miles with no end in sight. Long Beach allows dogs year round, which is one of the major reasons we decided to visit. We love including our pup on our trips and he loves it just as much. This was his first trip to the ocean and once he stopped barking at the waves he really started loving the beach. He was soaked in salt and sand, spent hours chasing the birds and discovered a real distaste for the pelicans. It might be because I'm not accustomed to seeing pelicans on a regular basis, but I actually really like them. They fascinate me and are entertaining to watch as they plop into the water looking for their next meal.
If you're in Carolina and looking for the perfect little beach town getaway, this is it. The only thing about this trip that I didn't like was the fact that we couldn't stay longer.
A couple weeks ago, we went to visit the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. We are on a mission to explore Charlotte and we're having so much fun while we're at it. The DSBG is about 20 minutes south of Charlotte, near the NC/SC border, in Belmont. It was a beautiful, albeit steamy day, capping off at around 95 degrees. We were only there a couple hours, but managed to walk all of the grounds and snap some good photos. Our last botanical garden visit was to The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC and in comparison the DSBG is much smaller, but still absolutely beautiful. Definitely worth the trip.
We're packing up and preparing to make the move from Detroit, MI to Charlotte, NC. The shop is going to be closed from noon Friday, June 13 (EST) until Saturday, June 21. All orders placed by noon on Friday will be shipped out the same day. We've got a long list of things to do, like packing for instance, while we're waiting for the moving truck to get here this Friday. We can't wait to get down there and give you an update on what I'm sure is set to be an interesting journey. We're so very excited for this new adventure. Here we come, Charlotte.
